Gratitude & generosity - the essence of Thanksgiving. One church in Meridian displays just that as they gave back to the community.

The Holiday season is a time for giving back and helping those that are in need. This morning I went to new life independent baptist church where they gave back to the community in the form of a Thanksgiving Dinner.
“We are here today to feed the homeless or whoever needs dinner it makes no difference who you are or where you are from, we just want to make sure you get a warm meal,” said Pastor Clayton.
The church has made this event an annual occurrence. The pandemic prevented them from doing so last year.
“My church loves feeding and being a part of the community and letting them know that somebody in the community cares for them”
Meridian residents lined up to receive a nice warm thanksgiving meal from the church and expressed how they felt about the church’s efforts.
“i’m down trying to get me a plate at independent baptist church and I sure appreciate how they serving these peoples and yall have a Happy Thanksgiving,” stated Jeffery Dover
New life independent baptist church provided meridian residents with a to-go plate of traditional thanksgiving foods from turkey to dressing and desserts.
“We are just so happy to do this I thank my church family at New Life for preparing this food and making access to anyone needing a meal."
