New time scheduled for SummerFest in Meridian.

Meridian, MS - The Dangerous heat is not only affecting burning, but also events in the city of Meridian.

Saturday’s Seventh Annual SummerFest (Formerly known as Meridian Day) has changed its time. The mid-day event is now set for late afternoon from 4- 7 p.m. at Downtown Meridian’s Dumont Plaza. The change in time is due to Saturday’s forecasted high temperatures and heat index values.

“I wanted to do the time change because safety of the community is first.” says Yolanda Edmonds

The free family event is presented by TNT Promotions. Live music will begin at 5 p.m. and will feature Benjamin McBride and the LIVESTOCK Band performing original music as well as cover songs.
