New Years Eve’s celebrations are underway in The City of Meridian.

The end of 2021 is only two days away and The Children’s Museum will be having their first-ever Noon Years Eves and Midnight Museum to bring in the new year.
Director of Programing Claire Huff said, "Tomorrow we are celebrating noon year's eve. It's a celebration for children and families. The museum is open from nine to three tomorrow. The celebration is from ten to one."
This will be the first annual celebration of noon years eve at the children’s museum and we learn what all will be taking place.
"Children will be able to make top hats and crowns, confetti poppers, write down their wishes for the new year. We'll have a photo booth, a DJ, and a countdown to noon."
8 pm that night The Children’s Museum will be having its first annual Midnight Museum for adults to bring in the new year.
"It is an adult-only event for adults over 21. We'll have a dj, we'll have food on the hour. We'll have special entertainment, a silent auction, which is actually online now, and anyone can bid on those items. And so we're very excited about that very first annual event, midnight at the museum,"
stated Huff.
With covid cases now on the rise, the Director tells us how they plan on protecting everyone at the events.
"We have a state-of-the-art bipolar ionization HVAC system that was built as part of our museum. The CDC encourages people to wear masks. We have stations where people can wash their hands. We also encourage social distancing. And what will happen throughout the museum is that all of these events are spread out within the museum and also outside the museum.
