Newton Municipal District Learning Quarantine

jstevenson99
Newton Municipal School District decided that virtual learning is the best option for their students right now. From August the 5th through the 15th students will continue their learning quarantine in hopes that when school reconvenes on the 16th, the number of COVID cases and the spread will be decreased.

“The safety of our children is always top priority, coupled with academics; but until we can ensure the safety of our students then that instruction, that innovation that we are prepared to provide to our students will be hindered so we are always looking for some precautions to be in place”, said Superintendent Nickson.

The district has put in place a “COVID Team” to help keep track of positive COVID cases and contact tracing. Superintendent Nickson believes having the COVID team will help in the process of keeping students safe this year. Nickson also told how the COVID team works with parents to keep them updated on the safety of the school.

“We monitor those COVID cases coming in. We send out a notification on who should be quarantined and we provide them guidance on what they should do next. Identify, look for symptoms, contact their health care provider and our team helps provide information to our parents and students on what next steps need to be taken once they have been identified with positive results or if they have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive.

Newton Municipal School District faculty, administrators, and students will return to in-person learning August 16th
