Newton County School District to offer Distance Learning Option for students

The Newton County School District will offer a distance learning option for students with health issues, concerns, or have a current health status placing them at an increased risk in a traditional school setting.

Parents who choose this setting will have to provide a signed statement from a physician or health care provider. Students who choose this setting will not be able to participate in any extracurricular activities. Activities such as athletics, band, choir, drama, clubs and organizations are prohibited.

Assignments and test will be proctored by teachers periodically throughout the academic year. Plans are subject to change.
