In Lauderdale County, Northeast Middle School will be holding a Veterans Day drive-through celebration, to honor and recognize veterans for their service.
The drive-through Veterans Day celebration will be held from 12pm-2pm on Tuesday, November 10. Students will welcome veterans, and those who are active duty in the military, on campus with colorful signs. This year’s Veterans Day celebration at Northeast Middle School has been altered because of the pandemic. School counselor, Terisa Pittman, shared what attendees can expect when they participate in this year’s Veterans Day activities.

“Due to COVID-19, we’ve had to rethink some of our activities –and this is one of them, and when they come , -- Officer Hopson will be directing them if they would like to come inside and have their picture made with their student that goes to school, and we’ll have refreshments for everybody, and it’s just a fun time,” said Terisa Pittman, counselor at NEMS.
