Northeast Middle School hosted their Veterans Appreciation Luncheon for Veterans and Military families.

The luncheon started off with students reciting the pledge of alliance followed by a few guest speakers all while enjoying their lunch.

Keni Sone Leoso, Chief Select at us Naval Station said, “We are just so very blessed and fortunate to be a part of a community like this that shows so much love and support to the military members so thank you for that and thank you for having me out today.”

The students of Northeast Middle School made signs to show their appreciation to the Veterans. One father and Veteran drove 2 ½ hours just to be a part of the program.

Robert Loper, Senior Chief in the U.S Coast Guard said, “It’s amazing I love to see schools do stuff like this for our children anytime. It’s not just about us it’s honoring them to they really do sacrifice a lot.”

Communities across the country have different ways they like to honor and show support to all the Veterans who have served.

Carey Roberts, Retired Veteran said, “It was a nice program I’m glad that they did it for the Veterans.”

Veterans Day is annually observed on November 11th for honoring Military Veterans who have served in the United States Armed Forces. So, if you happen to run into a Veteran don’t forget to thank them for their services.
