Poplar Springs Elementary Burglary

csims121

Authorities report that sometime earlier this month.. two men broke into the Poplar Springs Elementary School you see behind me... here along 27th avenue in Meridian.

All they will say is that 70 electronic devices were stolen.

That's it.

These surveillance pictures were taken by a security camera. They show two men loading up what appears to be a wagon full of items.

Police believe the items were stolen from Poplar Springs Elementary School.

Within the last 24 hours, Meridian police released mug shots of the men they believe broke into the school and stole 70 electronic devices.

In a Facebook Post Meridian Public School superintendent Dr. Amy Carter said she was disheartened that these individuals would break into one of our campuses and steal from our students."

But when we tried to get more information from administration today.. we were told no one was around to answer our questions--- including how the school was broken into, what exactly was stolen, what the value of the stolen goods is.. and how the burglary is affecting the Poplar elementary school students and their learning.

But people responding to the Scotty Ray Report about the burglary have plenty to say.. including:

“Hope they get them and keep them in jail.”

And...

“Sure wasn't thinking about the kids and their needs.”

Again, Meridian police have two suspects in the elementary school burglary. And as soon as we hear more from either police OR the school district.. we'll let you know.
