Poplar Springs Elementary burglary suspects were taken into custody

Meridian, MS - After days of searching, both suspects from the Poplar Springs Elementary burglary earlier this month have been arrested.

Michael David Huey was found by the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department and the Special Operations Unit, and arrested on September 20th at 1006 Lake Drive, Meridian, MS 39305.

His partner in crime, Colby Scott Thompson, was also found and taken into custody later the same day.

He was spotted by an off-duty school resource officer in the Tuxedo community.

Thompson was taken into custody without incident, and transported to the Lauderdale County Detention Facility.
