This evening, Poplar Springs Elementary is inviting members of the community to see the school decked out in lights, spreading holiday cheer.
The Poplar Springs Elementary “Night of Lights” is taking place this evening until 7:30pm, allowing community members to drive through on campus, and admire the holiday decoration and bright lights, lighting up Poplar Spring Elementary’s campus. To view PSE’s Night of Lights, attendees must present a toy donation, or a monetary donation. This event is a modified version of Poplar Springs Elementary’s traditional “Giving Feast”, where the toys collected, and monetary donations will go to the Wesley House Community Center.

“Well, last year we would have held an assembly, where we would have our “Giving Feast”, and of course, because of social distancing, and things of that effect, we can’t have that this year, so we wanted to give families still an opportunity to gather and celebrate and be able to give toys and donations,” said Yolanda Davis, Principal at Poplar Springs Elementary.
“With the ‘Giving Feast’ being a tradition for several years at poplar springs, and a tradition known throughout the community. We wanted to keep that tradition going,” said Corey Boykin, Assistant Principal at Poplar Springs Elementary.

There will still be an opportunity to donate toys for the "Giving Feast", by dropping them off at Poplar Springs Elementary front office before December 10.
