Portion of The Ruins in Meridian gets torn down.

Meridian, MS - A portion of The Ruins has been torn down.

The wall facing 25th Avenue, between Fifth and Sixth Streets, was removed.

Meridian businessman and building owner Jimmy Copeland said he wanted the area to be safe for vehicles and pedestrians to travel through.

Once the debris from the area has been cleared and deemed safe by the City of Meridian, Officials expect the pathway will be opened for passersby.
