Hurricane IDA could bring in an increased surge of gas prices after oil and gasoline companies took precautions to stop production due to safety measures.

On Monday gas prices were at an average of $3.15 according to AAA and have since increased as much as three cents. Experts from GasBuddy, an app that saves you money, say that prices could average an increase of five to 15 cents per gallon in the next few weeks.
Between Mississippi and Louisiana, gas prices in Mississippi are the lower rates. I was told by a customer here that people are driving to Mississippi, buying gas, and then taking it back to Louisiana.
“Most people I know are evacuating to Mississippi to get fuel", said a customer at the gas station. "They still don't have power down there (Louisiana) ,and the ones who do have power, the lines are, I don't know how far, almost half a mile long to each service station”
There is a 52-cent difference in gas pricing between the state of Mississippi, which is averaging $2.78, and Louisiana averaging at $2.87
“I know a lot of people right now are bringing gas cans and trying to get gas to go all the way back to Louisiana. I guess we’re going to rough it out, it's just another episode like Katrina again.” -Customer
