The Mississippi Secretary of State’s Office will host a public hearing regarding Initiative Measure No. 65 (medical marijuana), Thursday in Meridian at City Hall, located at 601 23rd Ave. The doors will open at 5PM, and the hearing will begin promptly at 5:30PM.
This public hearing will allow voters to voice their opinions and learn more about properly casting their ballot for Election Day. Speakers will be heard both for and against medical marijuana.
A local gives her opinion on medical marijuana.
“There are pros and cons of medical marijuana, but I personally feel that it is really a good thing,” says Karisma Barnes. “Although there are a lot of pros to medical marijuana, you also need to be cautious when using it because frequent use can affect your short term memory and smoking anything whether it be tobacco or marijuana can seriously damage your lung tissues.”
This public hearing will be conducted in accordance with all state guidelines regarding COVID-19.
