The city of Quitman will be allowing Halloween to take place this year, but is asking residents to remain cautious when participating in Halloween activities.

The Board of Aldermen in Quitman voted to allow Halloween, but have set recommended guidelines for that day, like trick or treaters must wear masks. They are also encouraging residents who plan to participate in Halloween, to place candy in little bags to lessen the chance of spreading COVID-19, or to place candy directly into the trick or treaters bag. They advise residents who do not want trick or treating visitors, to leave their porch lights off. City officials also listed that all church activites are welcomed and encouraged.
