Quitman School District to begin hybrid learning next week, discusses meal plan

Tuesday begins the hybrid learning plan for the Quitman School District. Group A, which is students last name beginning in A-L, will attend school on Mondays and Tuesdays. Group B, which is students last name beginning with M-Z, will attend on Thursdays and Fridays. Everyone will be virtual on Wednesdays.

Starting the new hybrid plan will put an end to bus delivery meals. This is the final week the district will deliver meals to students for all virtual learning.

“We still will have pick up meals for distance learners and those who are not on campus on their non campus days, those students will have access to meals also,” says Nutritional Director Wendy Tucker.

Students who conduct virtual learning on their assigned day will be able to pick up their meals at the high school cafeteria from 11AM to 12PM. When students arrive; a worker will come outside, collect their lunch number and deliver their breakfast bag and lunch.

“We have a link on the webpage that will take parents to a form to fill out to inform us if they plan on picking up meals. That way we can have an idea of how many meals to fix kids who aren’t on campus.”

Students on campus will pick up their lunches from the cafeteria and eat in their classroom. The district asks lunch forms be filled out by Friday.
