Renovation for a new Hope Village recreation center has begun

csims121

Meridian, MS - The Demolition process is underway for a new recreation center at Hope Village for Children in Meridian.

Hope Village is a place for abused and neglected kids in Mississippi.

It provides them with somewhere they can have a safe to live while they grow up.

Project Manager, Mason Phillips, gives us the rundown of the plans for the project.

“This is an existing cafeteria that we are renovating into a recreational open-concept floor plan for all of the children. They don’t have a center where they can all come together and see each other.”

The Director of Development, Casey Culpepper, informed us that this rec center is going to have all the bells and whistles these kids need to enjoy themselves.

“They ’ll be an art studio, a place where they can watch movies, and play games together.”

The crew from Associated Builders and Contractors are working hard to give this building a facelift.

Mason Phillips informs me on what they have done so far, and what is next on the agenda.

“So far, we’ve torn down the walls and everything that comes from the inside. We’ve put a new roof on it, a new exterior storefront. Now it's time to redo the bathrooms.”

Casey Culpepper feels this new addition to Hope Village is very important.

“This recreation center is going to be so special to our kids that live here. The kids that come to Hope Village have been through trauma. So having this rec center where they can all socialize and hang out together like normal kids is really really important.”
