MERIDIAN, Miss. - The East Mississippi Business Development Corporation held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of the Rock Community Resource Center in Meridian. The center is located in the former sanctuary of Freedom Rock Fellowship Church.
Officials says this to assist in meeting the needs of those in the community and provide free essentials such as toiletry items, water, canned goods and more.
“Because of this pandemic, it left a lot of people unemployed, homeless and hungry," said Resource Center Director Betty Cole. "So we are their resource. We are outreaching to Meridian and Lauderdale County to anyone that is in need.”
“Things that you can have in your pocket or things that you can take with you throughout that day or over the night if necessary," said Pastor LaBaron Hedgemon.
The Rock Community Resource Center is currently working on a schedule for people to come pick up the essentials they need.
