Rush Foundation Hospital to hold blood drive

Rush Foundation Hospital is partnering with Vitalant to hist a blood drive today at the Knights of Columbus Main Hall on Highway 19 from 12:30PM to 6PM.
The hospital expresses the turnout for blood drive have been relatively low and need all the blood they can receive.
“We always have a shortage of blood,” says Assistant Director of Hospital Lab Fairla Simpson. “Blood is needed at every hospital just to handle emergencies that come in and accidents. Also, we need blood to keep on hand for people who regularly go under chemotherapy treatments and other sorts of surgeries that need to be done.”
Vitalant asks donors to make an appointment online. All donors and Vitalant staff are required to wear a face covering.
