Rush Health Systems has merged with Ochsner Rush Health (ORH) to serve its patients and community better. Twin States News spoke with the CEOs of Ochsner on the goals they hope to accomplish.

One of the goals is to provide health care to patients on demand:
"People want to have care when they are at home and when they are on the move. In this day and age of Amazon and all the digital space, that is what this merger is going to allow us to do. Give our patients what they want, which is care when they need it, where they need it and how they need it", stated ORH Ceo Larkin Kennedy.

With more than 40 facilities, Ochsner believes the community's health system will improve by being a part of a larger network.
"We will continue to help invest in the facility to bring new capabilities and new technologies. Rush has converted to our epic electronic health record, which gives a lot more options for patients and a lot more capabilities for patients", explained ORH Ceo, Warner Thomas. So, it's all part of a multiyear transition of how we continue to improve the health system."

With a merger oftentimes comes change:
"I think everything is going to change in health care. What we want to do is change it for the better. So, yes, it will change, but it will give patients access to more care, better care, better tools for their care" stated Larkin. "At the end of the day, they are going to have a place where they can connect, where the care that they receive is of the highest quality. Also, the resources that give them the tools that they need and access to the higher level of care that they deserve."
Rush Health System will be changing its' name to Ochsner Rush Health.
