Rush Health Systems receives its first shipment of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine

Today, Rush Health Systems received its first shipment of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, and began the first phase of its vaccine distribution plan, administering it to hospital employees. Rush received 500 doses of the vaccine, and will be administering the second dose of the vaccine in 28 days for those who received the first dose today.
“After 10 months of a pandemic, it’s really strained every resource we’ve had. to know that we’ve had a game changer here is super exciting. I got up this morning and i couldn’t help myself. so, we’[re really pleased and glad that it’s here, and we think that it’s going to change everything for the better,” said Dr. Frederick Duggan, Chief Medical Officer with Rush Health Systems.

Dr. Duggan also shared that when surveyed more than 600 employees with rush health systems shared that they would be willing to take the COVID-19 vaccine.
