Meridian, MS - Meridian Native Zachary Ball is spreading the word about his second annual “Warming the Hearts of our Elders” Blanket and Sock drive. “Some families don’t go visit their elders, So I wanted to give back around Thanksgiving holiday, along with Magnolia Middle School, and also doing this of memory of my grandmother that passed away last January of 2022.”
Ball says he is all about helping the community and plans to give donations to the elderly at local nursing homes in the community. “The few nursing homes I can name right now Rp White, Brookdale, The Preserve, just to name a few of them. Everybody is in need, you never know what a person is going through, you never know if a person is going without, afraid to ask for anything, you just never know what’ll warm an elderly heart, or anybody heart, homeless, it don’t matter, you just never know what a person going through.”
Not only will the elderly receive blankets and socks, but Zachary also plans to bring the gift of music from Magnolia Muddle School Choir. “They will be singing a few songs, I’ll be giving away the socks and blankets, and just warming the elderly hearts.”
Drop offs are available at different locations in the community for anyone that would like to give back to the cause.
