Senior at Merdian High School appointed to State Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council

MHS Senior Kayiana Jasper was one of the 163 students across the state who was selected to be a part of the State Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council. The Mississippi Department of Education recently announced the members of the council which includes students in 11th and 12th grades, or in their first year of college, to serve a on the council for a term of two school years.
“It’s very exciting to be a part of this council, because I feel like I was selected for this opportunity to be able to help not only just students in my school district, but students across the state,” said Kayiana Jasper.
Students on The State Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council will serve as liaisons between the Mississippi Department of Education, and public-school students throughout Mississippi.
