MERIDIAN, Miss. - It’s Mental Health Awareness Month and the Wesley House and Key Field Air National Guard partnered together to share smiles today at the Cash Saver Grocery Store in Meridian. The groups handed out smiley face finger puppets along with mental health sticks with words of encouragement. Locals had the chance to write small messages of hope on a chalk table set up.
“We know that we all face challenges so today we’re out sharing smiles--supporting our community and letting them know that through unity and community, we can meet the challenge of mental health," said Patricia Everette of Key Field.
“We’re so thankful that we get to be out here with Key Field and partner with them for mental health awareness month," said Elauran Bowell of the Wesley House. "We really just wanted to go out into our community and let people know they're not alone--they’re supported and loved.”
The Wesley House and Key Field have also partnered this month doing several events geared toward Mental Health Awareness.
