Meridian MS - Southeast Lauderdale Juniors had the chance today to get what’s called the "Eagle Experience” at Meridian Community College.
Recruitment coordinator Tariah Mouton explains what the eagle experience is all about. “We get the students to come on campus, just give them the give them a Meridian Community College experience, you know, get them familiar with the programs, and just showing them a good time whenever they come on campus.”
The high school students were able to participate in games as well as learn what the college, that has an eagle as its mascot, has to offer.
Meridian Community College student recruiter Jasmyne McDonald shares how it feels to give the students this opportunity. “A lot of people don't have it introduced to them. Or don't know what's available to them. So, it means a lot to reach out to them and have them come visit us and show them around.”
Southeast Lauderdale Junior Allison Shannon loved getting the Eagle Experience. “I know a lot of these people that are the MCC recruiters. So, it's good to see them and see how much they're enjoying it today. We're getting to do games and stuff. I wasn't expecting that. I'm learning a lot about MCC. Like, I’ve lived here my whole life, but I never really knew a whole lot about this.”
Recruiters say they loved sharing the experience, and they hope one day those students join the eagle family.
