In Lauderdale County, a local middle school, hoping to bring holiday cheer by collecting toys to gift to children in the community.

Southeast Middle School is holding its annual Christmas Angel Child Project, where local churches, individuals, sports teams and teachers donated toys to be wrapped up and gifted to children in need. Students at Southeast Middle School help wrap the gifts up for their peers, and the presents are given to children that have been recommended to receive a gift.
"Our community helps so much, and our teachers let us know kids who could use some help. we had a recent house fire, things of that nature, and then our community steps up and supports those children and tries to help out those families that need a little extra that year,” said Robbi Cooper, counselor at Southeast Middle School.
This year, Southeast Middle School is expecting to present gifts to 45 children in the southeast community for their annual Christmas Angel Child Project.
