State Games of Mississippi begin with opening ceremony in Meridian.

Meridian, MS - The 32nd State Games of Mississippi has officially begun.

The event kicked off its opening ceremony Friday night.

Hundreds gathered in downtown Meridian to watch the parade of athletes, cheer, and show support for the athletes competing in the 3-week event.

Over 5,000 athletes will compete through June 25YH.
