Meridian MS - It’s been more than a month since the storm of March 26, and Contract Compliance Officer Shandrick Glass says it’s time to clean up the debris that remains.
“We’re in the process of removing storm debris at this time. The city of Meridian has entered into a service agreement with our solid west contractors, waste pro. They’ll be helping with the clean-up efforts as well as our public works department.”
The help is needed because of the large amount of debris. “We had a lot of trees down, a lot of limbs, and stuff in the right of way.”
So, when can people expect all the debris to be picked up? “We started the process at the beginning of this week, we don’t have a timetable set, but we’re looking at a two-to-three-month period.”
