Newton, MS - The entire Newton Municipal School District, and the community had the chance to participate in a Cancer walk. From Pre-K, all the way to High School, students enjoyed walking to raise awareness.
“This walk is for three reasons: to honor cancer survivors, to bring awareness to cancer research, and also to raise money to help benefit patients who are currently battling cancer, to give them hope by raising money and donating to the American Cancer Society.”
School District Superintendent: Dr. Glenda Nickson expressed the importance of coming together for such a cause. “Cancer impacts so many families, so many generations, so in order to raise awareness, into to help us with preventive measures that can help decrease the risk of cancer, it's very important that our community, our parents, our entire school staff come together to help bring awareness."
