Summer camp to reopen in Meridian

ree

Meridian, MISS. - If you are looking for somewhere for the kids to spend their summer vacation, the Pine Lake Fellowship Camp is hosting an open house on Saturday, April 24th, from 11:00, am - 2:00 pm. Potential campers and parents will get a preview of the culture at Pine Lake by meeting the staff, exploring the campgrounds, and will also get to participate in a few classic camp favorites. Executive Director, Matt Graybill says summer camp can have great benefits that can be long-lasting.

“A week of camp can transform a child’s life. There’s nothing like it. Getting out of the comfort zone, getting out of the routine, especially after a year of being isolated in a lot of ways from activities and our friends, camp can transform a life by doing new things and new experiences that build a lot of self-confidence and just help people grow. And so, that’s why we’re excited to have camp, we’ve been doing this for 55-years and we can’t wait to have campers back after almost 2 years of not having a summer camp,” says Graybill.

Pine Lake is back after a two-year hiatus due to covid-19 and the director advises they are taking every safety precaution to keep campers safe.

“We have a safety page on our website, Pinelakecamp.com/safety and there you can see all of the precautions that we are taking and measures. We are reducing our capacity this summer and increasing our handwashing stations and many other things like that.”

Summer camp begins on June 6th and will run through July 3rd. For more information, or to register for the open house, click on the link above.
