The Holiday season is a time for giving which is something The Salvation Army is known for doing.

Today The SArmyalvation army held its final drive-thru food distribution this morning. All year on select days The Salvation Army has given out food to those in need in the community.
Alexis Hendrix the Case Manager said, “So today we are doing a food distribution to end the end of the year and we will have no more food distribution until the beginning of next year."
Bags were pre-prepared as residence drove up to receive their bags of food the case manager tells us what’s inside the bags
"So today we are giving out nonperishable foods, cereal, and canned goods."
Local residence tells us how it feels to have the salvation army as a service when in need
"It feels good because a lot of times it’s kind of hard and the little extra help and it’s good for the community and everyone else too," said James Edwards.
Erica Dean said, "It’s a blessing to have the salvation army as a help to us and our children."
As the salvation army transitions to a new location, they tell us what the future looks like for their food distribution program.
"We are planning to open our community center and right now everything is still in the works so we just ask everybody to follow our Facebook page and we will keep them updated then."
The salvation army will also continue their evening meals every evening from 5:30 -6:30 pm in to-go containers.
