Meridian, MS - The Salvation Army in Meridian opened its cooling station today.
The cooling station is open for those needing water or just to come in, sit down, and cool off throughout the day.
“We’re open Monday through Friday from 9:00 to 3:00, what we’ve done is taken our chapel to set it up with tables and chairs, we’ll have videos going and things like that as well as having bottled water available and snacks just to help people get out of this weather.” says Lieutenant Roy Fisher.
The Salvation Army says as of now there is no end date for the cooling station.
They just want to make sure people are safe from the weather.
