Changes are underway for The Salvation Army as a new leader takes over. Lt. Roy Fisher gave us an insight into who he is, what he stands for, and the changes coming to The Salvation Army.

"I was appointed here by The Salvation Army in Atlanta. When they told me I was coming here, I was so excited to be coming to Meridian," said Fisher.
Fisher says you can find him hands-on out and about in the community rather than sitting in an office. Putting in work at the thrift store and the food pantry has allowed him to connect with the community.

"Some of the things I have planned are the renovation of our new building on 25th Avenue, as well as working with the community. I am all about working with the community and with Community Leaders, with the different Agencies, Churches, anybody that I can work with," he said.
Being someone who has been a part of The Salvation Army for over 57 years, Fisher is more than knowledgeable about The Salvation Army and says he was born into it and shares his plans.
Fisher states," The goal is to eventually open up once the renovations are done and we have our chapel full force and renovating the building, having a core Community Center, and having a Care Center so that people can come in."
Some goals they are working towards are getting the Community Center open as soon as possible and getting more volunteers.
"We also want to concentrate on young adults as well and in which I'm going to partner hopefully with the different Colleges as well to work with the young adults because we need to get them involved, not just with Salvation Army, but in the community as well. We're always needing volunteers to help with different things. And so starting young is a big thing," said Fisher.Robb

While I cannot guarantee what you might get offered if you’re successful with them,QDNiop my research suggests around $30 USD per hour for those based in Asia/India, and around $30-40 USD per hour for those based in Europe and UK / US / Australia / New Zealand.
