Captain Tamara Robb says, “So we are so excited because we are on the cusp hopefully within the next month we will move into our new facility.”

For decades The Salvation Army has been there to help those in need whether it was providing food, shelter, clothing or helping someone get back on there feet they will now be expanding on ways to help.

“It will be a Community Center for all ages from the younger kids all the way up to the seniors."

The Center will have programs focused to a specific age groups Captain Robb tells us the programs they will have for children.

“We will have activities such as After School Programs, Summer Day CampPrograms, Music Programs, Drama, Dance.”

There will also be programs tailored to adults to help and provide the knowledge they need for the workforce.

“Program for Adults like Job Readiness Classes and Interview Classes, helping them with getting their applications in online.

The center will even have Programs specific to the needs of Senior Citizens.

"Our Senior Citizens Program will have activities for them to do and get out and have fellowship with each other and not be sitting home alone.”

Although many changes are happening with the salvation army some things will still remain the same.

“We will continue to do some of our programs that we have done previously at our other location, so we will do our drive through food distribution, we will do our produce and pastry distribution, we will give out vouchers as needed and all of that will continue in our new building.

Although they are closing their shelters they will continue to do the community feeding. The community feedings are still currently ongoing at their B Street location and once they transition to their new building they will continue the feedings there as well.
