THE TEMPLE THEATER HOSTS A LIVE RECORDING AND INVITES YOU TO COME OUT.

IF YOU’VE EVER WONDERED WHAT IT TAKES TO RECORD A LIVE ALBUM, THEN YOU MAY BE INTERESTED IN AN EVENT COMING UP THIS SUNDAY. TWIN STATES NEWS DANNY TODD HAS MORE ON HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED.

The Temple Theater in Meridian, Mississippi, is set to host a live recorded album right here in the Queen City. They're then going to take that and use it as a unique fundraiser for the theater. Twin State's News speaks with the event directors and some of the talent associated with the show to get their thoughts on what's coming up.

Roger Smith: Manager of the Temple Theater says "What the show involves is a lot of local talent. We've got approximately 26 performers that will start at 2:00 this Sunday, the fourth. Keep in mind, they're going to sing around two songs, each."

Temple theater manager Roger Smith points out it was promoter Ken Rainey and Shelley with Super Talk Radio who come up with the idea he and the performers could not be more appreciative.

Emily White: Performer says "It's the First annual get-together. It's kind of like a talent show, but not really. We're having a lot of the local talents come in and they're dedicating their time to the event. So we have local musicians like Daniel Houze. I'll be there. Scott McQuade, Brick Gully, and all the staples of Meridian, Mississippi are going to be here."

A lot of preparation has gone into this show, and Emily White couldn't be prouder to be a part of an event that will directly affect the restoration of this historical monument.

Ken Rainey: Event Promoter says "Please don't miss it. Tickets are just $20 for adults and $10 for children. And I got to be honest with you, if there had not been a Roger Smith almost 13 years ago, we may have seen some plywood on the windows. But he's keeping it going. You know, it's so much keeping up with this building that you got to have a little help every now and then."

Ken Rainey has hosted many big-name singers at the Temple Theater. George Strait, George Jones, Travis Tritt, Willie Nelson, and Hank Williams, Jr. Just to name a very few. He has a passion for making sure that the theater thrives.

Shelley Hotchkiss-whitehead: GM of Super Talk Meridian says "A couple of months ago, I interviewed Ken Rainey on my show, Grind Grace and Growth, and we were talking about the Temple Theater and how much he loves it and adores it. So I came to Hilda, and the way my brain works is I am a nonprofit person and I love to help our community. And I said to Hilda, we need to do something for the Temple Theater and that’s how this kind of came to bay."

Daniel Houze: Performer says "It means a lot to me, to be able to play at the Temple this Sunday and be a part of a great cause. I think they doing a thing down there, and it cost you $20 to get in and see all kinds of people, my good friends."
