Bell ringer applications for the Salvation Army have begun for the holiday season. Bells will begin ringing in the first week of November at Uptown Meridian, Winn Dixie and Hobby Lobby. Orientation started today for potential bell ringers and will be held again this Thursday and Tuesday and Thursday of next week at 11am.
“This is a way where you can drop in a couple of pennies, a nickel, a quarter, a dollar and we also have a bump and pay this year where you can scan the bar code and do it that way if you don’t have any cash,” said Lieutenant Tamara Robb of the Salvation Army. “So we do need income and this is our largest fundraiser of the year.”
Bell ringers will be paid $8 an hour. In order to attend orientation, you must have identification and your social security card or birth certificate. For more information, call (601) 483-6156.
