Two colleges sign Memorandum of Understanding Tuesday

Meridian Community College and William Carey University signed a Memorandum of Understanding in the Todd Casteel Gallery on MCC campus Tuesday. The agreement was created to help students of Meridian Community College who finished with a Career and Technical degree to advance their education and receive a four-year bachelor’s degree.

“The university transfer relationship has been in place for a long time, but adding this career and technical component is a difference maker because many of our students haven’t been able to take advantage of those kinds of opportunities until now," said President of MCC, Dr. Thomas Huebner.

“Partnerships are very vital for us whether it be school districts or community colleges in this case because it allows us to learn more about what our future students need and how we can do a better job of partnering with all these organizations," said Ben Burnett, Executive Vice President of William Carey University.

Students will have to meet the admissions requirements to attend William Carey University. The university is located in Hattiesburg, but does offer online classes.
