Uptown Meridian announces plans for an Upgraded Luxury Theater

Meridian, MS: Uptown Meridian is proud to announce that Golden Ticket Cinemas is the new operator for the former United Artists theater. Andy Weiner, President of RockStep Capital, stated that “We are extremely excited to continue our partnership with Golden Ticket to bring back that captivating theater experience that has been missing for quite some time.”

Golden Ticket is based out of North Carolina and currently in two of RockStep Capital’s

properties. Golden Ticket will transform the movie experience in Meridian by adding luxury

reclining seating to the auditoriums and adding expanded food and beverage o

fferings to the concession stand. Projected opening is 2020 holiday season with the completion of Phase One renovations of the lobby, concessions, and conversion of 5 auditoriums to luxury seating. Phase Two will complete the remaining theaters and offer an extended menu.

The theater upgrade will strengthen Uptown Meridian by driving additional traffic to the

existing businesses that currently occupy the property. This along with Hype Indoor Adventures,

will boost Uptown Meridian's economic development and help drive traffic to the property and the surrounding community.
