Uptown Meridian is kicking off their annual fall carnival full of rides, games, food and fun. The carnival began last night and Delshad says they had a great turn out.
“It was great. We had roughly 300 kids. It is so fun to see those costumes on those little kids and they just get excited. It’s one of my favorite events.
This year precautionary measures will be in place due to COVID-19, starting with 75% capacity.
“They are social distancing, they have the commercial fog machines, they have hand sanitizer throughout the whole park and they have handle machine stations.”
Fog machines are effective to clean germs from hard surfaces. Just as restaurants, the carnival skips seats on rides so everyone can keep their distance.
“It would be like a restaurant. One table is open, one table is not. They would never put two people who didn’t know each other on a ride together.”
Delshad explains although everyone wants to have fun, safety comes first.
“You just have to make sure you’re staying safe, that you’re sanitizing surfaces and washing your hands and providing sanitizer and I think we can do it.”
The fall carnival will be open until November 8th.
