Meridian, MS - Service members from all military branches were recognized at the East Mississippi Veteran’s Foundation tribute.
The Heroes of Lauderdale County Who Gave It All memorial, with 244 veterans from Lauderdale County who died during war conflicts, was unveiled for the community to see.
East Mississippi Veterans Foundation President, Jeff Summerlin, expressed why this memorial means so much.
“We are here today to celebrate our veterans who have served our country, community, and state. Without them, our nation would not be the home of the free.”
Local High Schools lent their services, as Meridian High Choir sang the National Anthem and Northeast Lauderdale JROTC presented the American flag.
