Meridian, MS - Many different organizations in the community came out to the Mississippi Children’s Museum in Meridian to do their part in keeping the museum in great shape for the fall season.

“We’re a non-profit organization, and it would cost a lot of money to pay for all this stiff to be done, so we appreciate people giving of their time to do this work for us.” says Angela Benard.

Facilities Coordinator Angela Benard believes keeping the Museum in good shape will benefit the community and children as well. “The Children are our future, and we’ve been open two and a half years, and we’ve already seen children’s lives changed from coming to the museum.”

From Painting, Cleaning the exhibits, and even landscaping, volunteers are making sure the museum looks its best. Northeast High School Student Eli Cook feels it was very important for him and his classmates to come and volunteer. “It feels great, you know all these kids are going to come around and they’re going to play in this sand and everything out here, we got to make sure it’s clean for them, make sure the environment is cleaned up for them.”

Many residents in the community are coming out to volunteer to help keep the museum in tip top shape.
