Meridian - MS

There is plenty of fun for the kids and families during the Mississippi Children’s museum’s “week of wonder.” But what makes it even better, is that its STEAM week.

The museum’s director of education and programs, Clair Huff, shares about the exciting things happening this week. “We are celebrating week of wonder at the Mississippi Children's Museum Meridian. So, each day of this week, we are taking one letter of STEAM and we're focusing on that letter. So, it's just a week celebrating STEAM and exposing children to all the careers and the technology involved with stem in our community, in our state.”

She also tells us how often these events happen, and who all is participating in steam week.

“Well, week of wonder happens every year during spring break. And we're very excited this year. That meridian has joined us, and it's called meridian steam break. And meridian has activities going on Monday through Saturday, all around steam. So, each day the city is taking activities. And so today is "Technology" across our city and tomorrow will be "Engineering" and all the different institutions, museums, organizations are participating to provide activities for our children and families.

STEAM stands for (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics.) So not only are kids having fun, but they’re learning at the same time.

There is no doubt that the Mississippi Children’s Museum has a week of great event for the kids and the family during Spring Break.
