Welcome Back Teachers and Administration.

Today the Lauderdale County School District (LCSD) teachers returned to work. They were welcomed back with a convocation where they got to look through the lens of their students.

The start of school is less than a week away and today LCSD teachers and administrators came together to learn new skills to get them through the school year.

“We need to simplify the shift. We need to pay more attention to giving feedback to children and during the transition last year that we had there were a lot of things; kids had to deal with

dealing with change and we need to be the change factor in ourselves.” Victor

Gilstrap - District Support Specialist

In-person learning this school year will look a little different. The school board’s recent decision of encouraging masks to be worn inside has teachers aware of the steps they need to take to keep students encouraged and safe.

April Larkin, Math Interventionist at Northeast Middle School told us, “ Even though this school year may be uncomfortable, we still need to keep going. Encourage our students and make it

comfortable.”

“With COVID procedures, I’m focusing on kids. Making sure they're safe because last year we didn’t get a full year so this year I really want to get a full year with my kids and like I said being a new teacher at a a new school district, I want to make a good impression by keeping my kids there and keeping my kids safe” said, Tana Causey, West Lauderdale 3rd grade teacher

School starts this Thursday in Lauderdale County.
