It was a great day for West Lauderdale high athletes. Seven of their star players signed and committed to further their future as athletes.

Five different sports programs from West Lauderdale had athletes to sign today. I spoke with three of those athletes who all say they are ready to work hard and show their new athletic family what they can do.
“I'm really excited. I'm really thrilled. I'm shocked”, said EMCC softball commit, Victoria Irby. “Also, I'm ready to go play ball for college. I'm just ready to experience new things.”

Lane Moore committed to East-Central Community College to further his athletic career in golf.
“I feel great. You know, I've always wanted to play college golf and I finally get to now. It's awesome”, said Moore.

Along with the other athlete's families, Moore's parents were in attendance. They say that the game of golf has a family tradition.
“We are very excited for him. We're very proud of Wayne. He loves playing golf. It's a sport that our whole family enjoys playing together. So, we're very excited. And he's got a lot of golf in his future”, explained Leigh and Troy Moore.
Six foot ten inches, Parker Henry signed with East Mississippi to play basketball. Henry said he was nervous but he’s happy that the hard has finally paid off.
“I feel very accomplished”, said Henry. “My goals have been met so far and I'm ready to get to the next level and succeed there the next level. I was a little nervous, but there's really no reason to be nervous because I deserve this and the hard work has paid off.”
West Lauderdale also had students commit from their tennis and soccer program
