Local Clinics are seeing a rise in Flu, Covid, and RSV cases which Health Officials call a Triple Threat. Health Officials say the spike in cases seems to be affecting children heavily. One local pediatrician shares how parents can keep their children safe.

"Unfortunately, because covid is better now with the immunization and all that kind of stuff. So we've gone back to our ways. So nobody's wearing masks, nobody's sanitizing. Nobody's washing hands, you know like we used to. So I just tell parents all the time, to be mindful that they are all transmitted almost the same way," explained Dr.Ernest Donkor.
Devra Massey a local school nurse says that she has had a lot of students come through her office what she would normally see in a week she now sees in a day.
"The numbers have increased of students being out. We are seeing more Flu A right now in our school, and even though we have seen an increase, it's still not what it was with covid," she said.
A nurse practitioner from greater meridian health clinic says they have seen more of a spike in Flu A cases than covid and RSV and shares tips on staying healthy.
"We recommend all vaccinations, good handwashing, and staying away from those people that are infectious. And if you're sick, staying home and also managing any kind of comorbid conditions that you have diabetes, or hypertension makes it to, those things are managed so that you don't weaken your immune system and that you stay healthy," stated Nurse Pratitioner, PractitionerCrystal Brassfield.
Although school attendance has been impacted by students being out sick Nurse Massey says that if a child is sick a parent should keep them home.
"Please, If your child is sick, please keep them at home right now. Not only to protect the other students in the school setting but also our teachers and our staff," stated Massey.
