Meridian, MS - People in the neighborhood tell Twin States News a woman was shot multiple times in the parking lot of Dollar Tree on the corner of North Hills Street and 29th Ave.
According to a witness to the shooting, the suspects had allegedly been waiting in their car for quite a while and approached the victim's car when she pulled up.
We were also told that the victim tried to fight back when her purse was being stolen, and that is when the shooting occurred.
The same witness said that the woman’s body was slumped over in the driver's seat of her car.
As the witness got closer, they could see that she was bleeding, but alert and responsive.
They also mentioned that there was a young child inside the victim's car and that the child was unharmed.
The victim was taken to the hospital, and her condition is unknown at this time.
